Project Scope

BMWC executed the mechanical scopes of work for a longstanding client’s new facility. Our contract value of $100M included the off-site fabrication of piping systems (process, utility, and hygienic), assembly of modularized pipe racks, and the field installation of piping systems. In addition to the critical piping systems and plumbing scopes of work, BMWC was responsible for setting all equipment and the associated tie-ins. Integrated project planning during the preconstruction phase allowed BMWC to fabricate over 82,000 feet of piping off-site in our Indianapolis fabrication shops. In addition to fabricating the piping systems off-site, BMWC developed a plan to assemble over 60 modularized pipe racks in an adjacent off-site fabrication facility. The off-site fabrication plan allowed BMWC to complete over 25,000 welds in the fabrication shop instead of the field, delivering a weld reject rate well below 1%.  

BMWC completed over 700,000 direct-hire craft hours on the project, constantly focusing on safety, quality, schedule adherence, and budget. BMWC’s Virtual Design and Construction team played a crucial role by providing detailed design for the piping systems. The combination of advanced technology, modular construction, and effective team collaboration ensured that the project was completed on schedule and met the high standards expected by the client.
